FRANCO FONTANA

Franco Fontana was born in Modena on December 9th 1933.
He began to take photographs in 1961, dedicating himself as an amateur activity. His first personal exhibition was in Modena in 1968 and from that year a substantial turning point in his research. He has published over 60 books with different Italian, Japanese, French, German, Swiss, American and Spanish editions. He has exhibited all over the world in Galleries and Museums with over 400 participations between collective and personal exhibitions. His works are in over 50 collections of museums all over the world including:

He held workshops and conferences in New York for the Guggenheim Museum, Institute of Technology in Tokyo, the Brussels Academy, the University of Toronto, then Rome, Paris, Arles, Rockport, Barcelona, ​​Taipei and many other cities. He holds annual courses at the Polytechnic of Turin, at the Luiss University of Rome. He has collaborated with: Guggenheim Museum of NewYork, Center Georges Pompidou, Ministry of Japanese Culture, Ministry of French Culture.
